If you didn’t know this had been Kansas City, you’d never know it now. What was once a sprawling metropolitan area in both Kansas and Missouri, with numerous suburbs growing around it, is now overgrown and broken. A wasteland. But out the destruction comes organized chaos.
When The Cheiron Group started The Paragon Project with only the best intentions. Taking the best from those they had studied to make a better soldier. Only that isn’t what happened. The Paragon Contagion swept through the world and what’s left over is little more than a shell of its former self. The disease impacts all of us, every super and mortal alike, and those who were left behind have had to forge new towns and cities, relearn old industries and skills, and adapt to a world that actively wants them dead.
Most of the people here either don’t know or don’t care what L’Appel du Vide (or just du Vide to the locals) was called before. All they care about is making sure they’re inside the wall when the sun sets.
